In this position you will provide a consistent service to families with the aim of achieving high quality contact between children and their families. You will work as part of a team for Children’s Services to facilitate and supervise contact sessions between children/young people and their families within the agreement and processes of the care planning agenda.

You will ensure that contact for children and their families is “safe” and that the time families spend together is as positive as possible. You would be able to support children, identify and manage any situation that may pose a risk to themselves or others, and be able to write the sessions in a meaningful way, which may be required in the court arena.

Your role will be to provide support to children/young people outside of their family home in times of need. The ability to communicate clearly to children, young people and parents/carers is essential.

You will be used to working with diverse members of the public.

In your role you will be used to lone working, making difficult decisions quickly and be professional in your note taking and with multi agencies.

You will have to remain calm in difficult and highly emotional situations.

Educated to GCSE standard, your experience of working with children and young people will be highly utilised in this position. You will have good knowledge and understanding of the development and complex needs of children/young people, including spectrums of disabilities. You will be are required to be computer literate.

Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).

An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this position.
