Are you passionate about helping children with ASD communicate?
We are looking for a motivated, experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work in a specialist role supporting children, young people with ASD.
The role is part of an integrated Neurodevelopmental Conditions Pathway (NDP), to aid diagnosis and early intervention for children who have been referred for assessment for neurodevelopment delay.
This is an exciting opportunity to work both within the Speech and Language Therapy team and with our community paediatric and SEND teams to support children with neurodevelopmental delay to access the right level of support and intervention at the right time. The role involves supporting speech and language colleagues and professionals across disciplines through the provision of training, advice, resources, and supervision.
The Service has a large number of specialist areas and supports students from Plymouth Marjon University. We have a culture of learning and growth with good funding for professional development.
The Service sits within integrated early help teams which includes: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, The Disabled Children’s Social Work Team, Children Looked After Team, Early Help Service, Health Visiting, School Nursing Service, Educational Psychology Service, Targeted Mental Health Services, Children’s Social Care, Swindon Borough Council’s specialist provision playgroup Koalas, and Special Tots preschool group for children with additional educational needs and their families.. This provides a unique opportunity for collaborative working to support the needs of children, young people, families, and their education and health teams.

This is a permanent position. We will accept applications from experienced therapists, who can demonstrate knowledge, experience of working with children with neurodevelopmental delay and ASD. Salary will be dependent on experience.
A full drivers licence and access to a car for use at work, or ability to attend site visits is required.
An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this position.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
