Salary:£23,647 p.a. pro rata
We are recruiting for a new post to enable us to maximise the use of the housing stock by encouraging tenants who are under occupying their Swindon Borough Council properties to downsize; supporting them through this process. We are looking for someone who is able to work with customers, partners and officers to achieve results.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the role including:
Promotion of the serve to tenants and housing colleagues to identify opportunities for tenant to downsize
Meet with tenants, both in their homes and the office, to explain the advantages of downsizing and support them with their transfer applications
Work with tenants throughout the moving process to ensure they receive the support that they need
Produce reports that demonstrate progress made, maintain records of the cases and make recommendations for improvement.
You will have experience of social housing and knowledge of local and national housing policy along with insight into the issues that affect tenants. We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skill, the ability to work on their own initiative and the ability to make decisions in line with the Council's Allocation policy.
Reporting to the Neighbourhood Housing Manager, you will manage your time effectively, organising and tracking your own caseload.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act - for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
