Contract type: Fixed term contract for one year
We are looking for confident and enthusiastic individuals to join the team. Our team of Planners are a vital link between our tenants and the Swindon Borough Council (SBC) work force. In this role the team plan the daily work for our 100 strong workforce across different trades and work streams. The Planner works as part of the team to ensure that work orders are received, planned and tracked; that the customers receive a high standard of service and the housing stock is maintained.
Key elements of the role include:
Update and maintain operative diaries using an electronic scheduling system.
Appoint follow on works.
Work with the Senior Operations Planner to resolve potential issues.
Identify areas of concern to the Trades Supervisors to ensure that staffing issues are highlighted and resolved.
Raise purchase orders.
Contact tenants and tradespeople by telephone.
Run end of day procedures.
Effective decision making skill.
Excellent telephone skills with an ability to work under pressure.
Good problem solving skills to resolve issues as they arise.
Ability to handle sensitive information with empathy.
Good negotiating skills.
The successful candidate will have:
Knowledge and Experience:
Working knowledge of Microsoft programmes.
Knowledge of DRS or equivalent scheduling system.
Knowledge of databases.
Educated to G.C.S.E. level in English and Mathematics (A-C) or equivalent.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
