The Public Health Team at Swindon Borough Council is seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Public Health Practitioner to provide expertise and support in Sexual & Reproductive Health as part of the Public Health Team. This role is a full time, but flexible hours will be considered for the right candidate.

Our vision is to create healthy, strong and resilient communities. Our highly successful public health team works to improve and protect the health of Swindon residents, tackle health inequalities and protect the most vulnerable.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practitioner support to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. This post will focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health, however matrix working will be required to support other Public Health programmes where required. This role will involve leading and co-ordinating a strategic programme of evidence based interventions and programmes to improve sexual and reproductive health of Swindon’s residents.

There is also an expectation at the current time that this post will support the Covid-19 response.

This role is home-based working at the present time, but with a requirement to be able to travel to Swindon Borough Council Offices, Central Swindon and across the Borough as required. Swindon Borough Council terms and conditions apply to this role.

Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
