We are looking for individuals to join our team as Casual Passenger Assistants. Passenger Assistants are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers during their journey, whether on Council-provided school or social care transport.
The successful candidates will have:
Previous experience of working with people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) would be desirable
The ability to establish a rapport and build relationships with passengers/parents and carers (this is essential)
A patient and calm disposition (if faced with a difficult situation) and be emotionally resilient
Flexibility to cover routes at short notice, dependent on the needs of the service is essential.
You will be a key individual in our service and must enjoy working with people. You will receive on the job behaviour management and safeguarding training, and sign language training may be available.
Due to an increase in service demand, we’re looking to secure additional casual workers.
Hours: Vary from 7.5 up to 15 per week (approximately depending on the area)
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role). An enhanced DBS is required for this post.
