We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated individuals, to take on an exciting opportunity in the role of Homelessness Floating Support Worker within the Rough Sleeper Team.
You will work with your own caseload of clients in emergency or temporary accommodation on a short term basis, providing empowerment and support to help them maintain their accommodation. You will act as a keyworker, encouraging positive and healthy lifestyles and assist clients to access services that support complex needs such as drug or alcohol issues and mental health concerns. Your work will focus on the prevention of people sleeping rough and reducing the number of people having no other option other than to sleep rough.
You will be creative and like to think of new solutions. We believe that what we do can make a real and lasting difference and always go the extra mile and work with dedication and commitment. We work together internally and externally to ensure the best outcomes for the people we support.
The successful candidate will be provided with some training but will already have experience of working with people with multiple needs. Applicants will need to be IT literate and have the ability to make on the spot decisions and be ready to sometimes deal with challenging situations.
The majority of your role will be visiting clients throughout Swindon and so you must either have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle or be confident in using public transport.
Candidates be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
