About the Role
Our private client team offer comprehensive advice on all areas of lifetime Estate Planning including the setting up and the management of trusts, including offshore structures. Advising non-domiciled UK residents on how best to limit their UK tax exposure is a particular area of strength. As the population ages, more people look to the potential benefits of Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) as a means of protecting wealth when mental capacity is affected. Our elderly and incapacity team also help clients with expert advice on Court of Protection issues.
We are looking for a senior fee earner to join our elderly and incapacity team.
Duties will include:
Manage a caseload of private client files, dealing effectively with cases and transactions including Elderly and Incapacity issues, COP, NHS continuing care, Care fees planning, wills, probate, estate planning and tax
Build credibility with clients and develops own client relationships through managing client expectations regarding options, outcomes, risk and timescales.
Develop market and sector knowledge and demonstrate expertise to clients.
Grow internal and external networks of clients, intermediaries and contacts, build on personal profile and reputation.
Scope fees for existing clients.
Ensure understanding of the firm’s strategic goals and sets own personal activities/ objectives to align.
Active in seeking and moving on opportunities to sell your own and the firm’s services and sector expertise
Skills & Experience:
Qualified Solicitor/CILEx with a minimum of 5 years PQE.
Previous experience within Private Client law
Specialism in Elderly and Incapacity issues, NHS Care Home funding, Long-term care fee planning, benefits reviews, COP with solid experience in probate, wills, and Trusts and the ability to supervise in these areas
Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service
Appetite for business development and confidence to attend events and raise your profile in Wiltshire
