- About the BID
Voluntary Action Swindon is delighted to announce an enhanced service at Swindon Shopmobility which can now offer qualified servicing of mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs.
Following investment in a residential training course, our two Shopmobility staff are now fully qualified in maintenance and servicing.
Customers and non-customers will be able to schedule an annual service of a mobility scooter for just £50 and, where appropriate, have use of a Shopmobility mobility scooter while their own is being serviced. We’re also delighted to be working in partnership with the Gateway Furniture Project to offer a collection and delivery service for private mobility scooters.
"We believe limited mobility should not stop people from being able to go about their daily lives”
Pam Webb, CEO of Voluntary Action Swindon, says: “We are delighted to be able to provide this competitively priced additional service and by booking with Shopmobility you will be helping to ensure that anyone with a temporary or permanent mobility issue can continue to access the town centre shops and amenities independently and help us to sustain this vital service for Swindon.”
The Swindon Shopmobility Service offers a range of mobility scooters, power wheelchairs for daily hire as well as manual wheelchairs for short or longer term hire.
For more information on prices and details, or to book please telephone 07379 689128 or go to the VAS website Swindon Shopmobility https://vas-swindon.org/services/shopmobility/
“Without Shopmobility I would be unable to go into town, meet friends and have a social life, it is a life saver for many other people, thank you.”
“Without this extremely friendly service it would be impossible to go to Swindon to do shopping and be sociable and actually feel part of society.”
