inSwindon BID response to Government’s four-stage roadmap to ease lockdown 3 restrictions
"On Monday 22nd February, the Prime Minister unveiled the four-step roadmap to ease lockdown 3 restrictions, with the aim for all social restrictions to be lifted by 21st June. We appreciate these dates are a guide and will be reviewed dependent on the success of the vaccination programme and for infection rates to continue to reduce.
We remain optimistic and look forward to, firstly seeing our non-essential retail and hospitality venues with outdoor space reopen from 12th April and all remaining businesses within the coming months.
It has been a challenging time for our town centre businesses with the impact and uncertainty of the past twelve months. The gradual easing of the current lockdown restrictions will allow companies to prepare accordingly for a safe reopening, when permitted to do so.
The inSwindon BID team have remained responsive throughout, signposting business owners to ensure they were able to access all advice and support available. We will continue to work closely with Swindon Borough Council, Wiltshire Police, partners, and stakeholders as part of the town centre recovery initiative for Swindon Town Centre's bright future.
We look forward to safely welcoming everyone back into the town centre following the recent announcement, where the community spirit will continue to ‘ShineOnSwindon".

The prime minister hopes to be able to lift the majority of rules by 21 June, but this is dependent on cases, deaths and hospital admissions continuing to drop. Dates are the earliest any of the stated rules could be lifted by.
There will be no regional tier systems - England will be treated as one in the easing of lockdown.
