Prime Theatre is a professional arts and education company for children and young adults. Prime is based at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon. From this base we work through, Swindon, the South West and the UK training young creatives in schools, youth theatre and other community groups.
This is a brand new role that will work with the arts team resident in White Horse Federation schools.
It is a perfect role for those wishing to begin a professional career in the arts or in education as an artist, youth worker, teacher or teaching assistant.
Successful applicants to this role will support classroom teachers in planning and delivering creative arts activities for pupils of all ages. These activities will include a mix of visual arts, model making, dance, drama, music, digital and textiles. Applicants do not need to have experience or confidence in all of these areas, in many ways they will just support young people in these activities. It is likely that applicants will have enthusiasm and experience in at least one creative art form.
The role will be based in classrooms as well as working with other arts organisations. Working hours will include school days and a mix of other projects outside of lesson hours.
This role engages with a lot of young people. A DBS check will be carried out.
While your qualifications may not demonstrate your full potential, we need you to have a good grasp of English and Maths. You should have knowledge and understanding of basic software like Microsoft Word & Excel.

Essential: Enjoyment of Arts and Culture
25 hours as arranged with successful candidate between 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. Some projects take place at evenings or weekends. This would be agreed in advance with the employee

Prime Theatre will provide a variety of training around the tasks demanded by the role, this includes Microsoft, communication and safeguarding.
Prime will offer artistic training and development and skills related to working with children in and out of school.
A successful candidate will also have access to Arts Award accreditation and basic training in British Sign Language
White Horse Federation will open their training opportunities to this role to help develop skills in the classroom, CV creation and help candidates achieve personal success.
Both organisations will work with the candidate to support development, build confidence and independence.
