We are looking for an Accommodation Officer to join our busy team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The main aim of your role will be to support households who have been housed by the council in temporary accommodation under homelessness powers and successfully move them on to more permanent accommodation. As part of your role you will:
Complete sign ups, carry out inspections, ensure rent is being paid and ensure tenancy agreements are being adhered to.
Liaise with other agencies, including The Courts, Police and Probation, Drug and Alcohol Services and Social Services to find positive outcomes for your tenants.
Communicate with Landlords and ensure the properties we use are in good condition.
Give high quality support and assistance and deal tactfully and sympathetically with tenants in frequently stressful circumstances and with high support needs.

Knowledge of tenancy law and the benefits system would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
Must be fluent in the English language (as part of Part 7 of the immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role)
A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
