Christmas Gift Wrapping at the Brunel Centre for the Prospect Hospice

This is a community mission, a community led session where you will meet other GoodGym members at the task. Please make yourself known to anyone in a GoodGym top when you arrive. As with all GoodGym sessions we encourage you to use the power of your legs to get there, i.e. run or walk if you can.

The Prospect Hospice needs our help again at Christmas! Back in December 2018, GoodGym Swindon was invited to 'takeover' the Prospect's gift wrapping station outside Sainsbury’s in the Brunel Centre on a Saturday afternoon, and guess what...we have been invited back again; this time ALL DAY on Saturday 14th December! However, we know this is a busy time of year and time is precious, so we will split into two teams - a morning team and an afternoon team. This is the morning shift starting at 9am and finishing at 1pm. The afternoon shift is listed adjacent to this.

So, what is the task you may ask?! Wrapping presents for the local community in return for a minimum suggested donation of £2 per gift to the hospice.

Last year, GoodGym'ers said that volunteering on the stand was a lot of fun, very festive and a chance to meet some lovely people in the community, some that may want to know more about GoodGym! So don't forget to wear your GoodGym tops everyone!

According to the Prospect "...each year we get a great response and as we get closer to Christmas (in particular, the final weekend) it starts getting very busy, mainly with last minute shoppers and ‘bad’ wrappers that urgently need our help. The busier the better though because it’s a lot of fun wrapping all the gifts, and all the ‘customers’ that visit the stand are in great Christmas spirit, are very generous and always so kind. This is the 6th year we have run the service outside Sainsbury’s and over the last 5 years we have raised an incredible £21,759.882 for the hospice".

This is a Community Mission, which does not require a formal group run, but if you feel like running to the Brunel that day for some extra fitness fun, why not?!
