Community Policing Shop hailed another success

20 August 2019

The Community Policing Shop has now closed after a successful three weeks in operation. We reached out to the Police for their summary on the project.

PC Paul Bezzant said: “The Community Policing Shop was open for three weeks and officers engaged with over 1,200 members of the public from across Swindon.

“It was a great opportunity for local Community Policing Team officers from across the local policing hubs to speak with the public. This involved sharing information about the CPT and some of the ongoing work that is being undertaken to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in their areas. We were also able to receive information from the community at the shop which assisted officers in tackling some of these issues and identifying other community concerns.

“In the shop, we had officers from The Bobby Van Trust visit to support crime prevention advice and a number of referrals for the service that they provide was made. The Cyber Crime team also paid us a visit to promote their current Cyber Safe campaign, as well as the inSwindon BID Street Team and the Management Team who explained about their role within the wider policing family. As well as this, the dog unit, the Positive Action team and the Independent Advisory Group.”
