60 seconds with... Kev Saunders

20 August 2019

How long have you been with inSwindon?

I started April 2017, so over 2 years.

Tell us a bit about a typical day in the life for Kev?

As the Street Team Supervisor my role is to manage the Street Team and ensure we are delivering an effective service to our BID members. There is no typical day in the life of the Street Team and that’s what I love about my job.

I really enjoy being out on the street, meeting businesses and liaising with partner agencies like the Police and Swindon Borough Council on helping to reduce criminal and anti-social behaviour in the town centre. I particularly enjoy being involved with the BID’s events, making it a memorable experience for visitors to the town centre. I get a lot of job satisfaction out of seeing the enjoyment on their faces.

On 25th August, I will have been working within the town centre for 17 years and I am still passionate about making it the best place it can be!

What’s your biggest highlight of your career?

Being a part of the team in delivering the town centre Christmas light switch on event in 2018, I was the Health & Safety Officer for the event and am really pleased to have delivered a safe and successful event for over 10,000 visitors.

Tell us an interesting fact about you...

I have arrested 2000+ people during my 17 years in security.
