In May 2008, inSwindon launched a Street Safe Campaign, a scheme to reduce the number of beggars in the town centre streets. As part of the Street Safe Scheme, inSwindon have placed collection boxes around the town centre cafes and retail outlets and asking shoppers to put donations here instead of giving directly to beggars. All money collected goes to HOSTS – Homeless Organisations Stick Together in Swindon – whom donate money to local organisations, which help homeless and disadvantaged people.
inSwindon work together with Wiltshire Police to reduce crime in the town centre and to ensure a visible Police presence in the town centre.
inSwindon work together with Swindon Pub Watch with the aim of improving Swindon’s evening economy. As BID levy payers, the evening economy is an important part of Swindon town centre and inSwindon works together with pub watch to improve this.
