Christmas 2010
Christmas wouldn't be Christmas in Swindon without the traditional turning on of the town centre Christmas lights.
Last year it was the Wyvern panto star Lorraine Chase doing the honours in front of over 5,000 people in Wharf Green as Canal Walk, Regent Street, and The Parade was illuminated in a massive celebration of the festive season.
Lorraine joins an illustrious list of top name celebrities who have been guest of honour for the big moment.
Check back soon for the announcement on who will be performing the big-switch on later this year.

Santa's Grotto - 18th November - 23rd December
inSwindon and The Brunel have partnered up this year for the return of the Santa's Grotto. This year the grotto will be found located on the top floor of the Brunel Plaza between Boots and Marks and Spencers.
Last year we had to get the elves working overtime to make sure we had enough presents for all the good children of Swindon, so this year we're planning on extending the hours of the grotto and have warned Santa to bring extra presents with him.
