Swindon's off to see the Wizard!

Follow the yellow brick road this summer with 200 young people as they sing and dance their way to Wharf Green on 23 August.
The Wyvern Theatre, in conjunction with inSwindon, is thrilled to announce details of an exclusive live event taking place in Swindon Town centre.
The “Flash Mob” involves 200 participants from The Wyvern’s annual Summer Youth Project perform excerpts from this years show,
The Wizard Of Oz. The event will commence from the Crumpled Water Walls feature, progressing up to Wharf Green where the performance will be filmed by Swindon Web, who will then link this footage live to the Big Screen.
Following the success of last year’s live event for
“Boogie Nights, the 70’s musical” the staff at The Wyvern Theatre and inSwindon were only too happy to recreate a similar experience for this year’s participants.

“inSwindon supports all local community events that come into the town centre and it’s great to see the Wyvern Theatre using the space available to promote such great events. This type of event creates a great buzz of activity around Wharf Green whilst shoppers go about their day and gives them something more than just retail therapy – great entertainment.”

“The Summer Youth Project is a great way for The Wyvern Theatre to get involved with local young talent. Opening such a community event out to Swindon’s public will give them a taster of exactly what these young people are capable of and provide free entertainment for all the family.”
